Mike Andrews - Nursery Teacher

In 2008, Mike decided to volunteer at his daughter's Nursery and immediately fell in love with the Early Years environment. A Year later he was studying to be an Early Years Teacher.

Mike has spent various placements in Nursery and School environments always knowing his dream was to open a Nursery with his wife Emma.

With a commitment to Ecology and Conservation, he was keen to develop an Eco-friendly Nursery. With the help of our parent committee, Mike has helped the Nursery achieve our Eco-Schools Bronze Award and is looking forward to achieving Silver.

“I’m never happier than when I am in the garden with the little ones. There’s something incredible about the wonder on a child’s face when they see a carrot come out of the ground for the first time!”

Emma Andrews – Nursery Nurse

As a mum of 2, Emma had always been fascinated by Child Development, opening a Nursery and working in the Under 2’s room provided the perfect opportunity to learn more. Emma studied at Truro College and completed an Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce.

Emma thrived on studying learning theories, and was keen to learn more about Children’s Nutrition.

Emma has developed the Nursery Menu and recipes in line with the Nippers Nutrition Programme. With Emma’s hard work and determination the Nursery achieved Level 4 status in December 2012.

“I love working with the under 2s, getting to know each little personality and watching them develop into walking, talking little people, all so unique!”
